Why I’m Loving the iQOO 13 – My Thoughts on This New Flagship?
Hey friends! Have you ever found yourself hooked on a smartphone because it’s so good for its price? That’s exactly how I felt about the iQOO 12. It was my favorite value-for-money flagship this year.
So, when iQOO 13 came along, I couldn’t wait to see what they’d improved. And let me tell you—it doesn’t disappoint! In fact, it builds on everything the iQOO 12 did right, and then some. I do have one small complaint (more on that later), but overall, this phone is seriously impressive.
Unboxing and First Look
Let’s talk about what’s in the box first. iQOO knows how to make an impression. The packaging comes with BMW’s motorsport vibes, which is pretty cool if you’re a car enthusiast like me. Inside, you get:
- A solid phone case
- Documentation
- A 120W fast charger with a Type-C to Type-C cable
- And of course, the phone itself
From the moment you hold it, you can tell this phone is built for gamers and performance lovers.
Sleek Design with Fun Features
At first glance, the iQOO 13 looks much like the iQOO 12, but they’ve added a fun twist—Monster Halo Lighting. It’s an RGB light (I can tell this backlight trend is set by nothing) that you can customize for calls, notifications, or even music. How cool is that?
I got the Nardo Grey color, which looks classy and understated. And even though this phone has a 6000mAh battery, it doesn’t feel heavy in hand. They’ve done a great job balancing the weight, and the build quality feels solid with its glass and metal design.
Gaming Beast with Cool Performance
Here’s where things get exciting. The iQOO 13 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which is a monster when it comes to performance. Pair that with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, and you’ve got a phone that handles everything you throw at it.
Why gamers will love it:
Runs BGMI at 120FPS on the highest settings without breaking a sweat.
Advanced cooling system: Even after long gaming sessions, the phone stays cool (unlike others that feel like a frying pan!) Dedicated gaming chip: This handles things like frame interpolation, making games run buttery smooth. And let’s not forget the 144Hz AMOLED display—it’s big, bright, and perfect for gaming or just binge-watching your favorite shows.
Battery That Keeps Going
One of the standout features is the iQOO battery, which is smaller and lighter but still packs a punch. It supports 120W fast charging, so you can go from 0 to 100% in about 20 minutes. (Yes! just 20 mins)
Battery life is solid—easily lasting a day and a half with heavy use.
Cameras: Solid, Not Mind-Blowing (you can assume as some 15-20k phone-like)
The cameras on the iQOO 13 aren’t the main highlight, but they still do a great job.
- Main camera: 50MP Sony sensor
- Ultra-wide: 50MP Samsung sensor
- Portrait lens: 50MP with 2x optical and 4x lossless zoom
- Selfie camera: 32MP (a nice upgrade!)
Low-light shots come out great, and thanks to Vivo’s algorithms, the colors and details are pretty spot-on.
My Favorite Features
Here are some little things that make using this phone fun:
- Live Call Translation: If someone’s talking in English, you can hear it in Hindi (and vice versa).
- Monster Halo Lighting: You can customize the colors for notifications, calls, or even your music playlist.
- IP68 Rating: Dust and water? No problem.
The Big Question: Is It Worth It?
Absolutely! For under ₹55,000, the iQOO 13 gives you:
Flagship-level gaming and performance
A gorgeous display
All-day battery life
Cool features like RGB lighting and advanced cooling
If you’re a gamer or just someone who wants a phone that performs like a champ without emptying your wallet, this is the one to get.
